O’s Notes: The Jacobs Brothers are Chuck on bass, drummer Rod and Dan (t, flugelhorn) are the core of this sextet. These boys are happily performing new arrangements of ten jazz standards plus their own bonus track, “Desert Sunrise” a They open with a Latin flavored “Summertime” and go on to play swinging versions of “Autumn Leaves” and “Quiet Nights of Quiet Stars”. Each of the brothers gets a chance to shine and each is up to the task as is guitarist Randy Dorman. They make jazz standards more palatable for a broad audience.
