O’s Notes: The band was assembled two years ago to carry on the music, style and groove of the late organist, Charles Earland. Joey DeFrancesco holds up his end on the B3 along with guitarist Pat Martino and Eric Alexander (sax). They cook on eight contemporary cool jazz tracks that have soul, funk and that cool jazz feeling best characterized by “South Philly Groove”. Indeed the members of this evolving band are Keepers of the Flame!
