O’s Notes: Zakiya belts out thirteen soulful blues tracks. She sounds great and is supported with harmonious vocal backup and liquid blues guitar. There are two musical teams, one each from Argentina and America. She opens with classic cover of “Hug U Kiss U Squeeze U” followed by her own “Cold Cold Feeling”. They go way down under to Buenos Aires singing blues in Spanish on “Desconfio” and pouring her heart into it. The title track has a bouncy beat and they swing on “One Bourbon One Scotch One Beer” tempting you to ‘cut a rug’! We also enjoyed the slower pace of “Scared To Love” and “Rock These Blues Away”. This CD is a lot of fun.
