O’s Notes: Veteran sax player Teddy Edwards came onto the jazz scene in the mid-1940’s. He’s still able to breathe excitement into the music. His tenor is soft and seductive whether out front or along side of Eddie Allen’s trumpet. The blends are sweet. This collection of songs is named for ladies and justly so. The music is both upbeat bop like Parker’s “Donna Lee” and ballads like Teddy’s own “Sashia”.
