O’s Notes: Jazz saxophonist Roser Monforte leads a vibrant trio with guitarist Pau Maine and drummer Jordy Pallares. They play fresh jazz-fusion with lots of dynamics on Landscape Songs. Among the best of the eight selections are “Antananarivo”, “Cosmic Dancer” featuring Maine, and the mellow “Baraka”. Monforte currently directs Jazz Do It and the Afro-Catalan Omelet Soul Band, two that we’d love to hear based on this experience.
