O’s Notes: Gabriella combines traditional Latin jazz with more contemporary beats to arrive at a seductive collection of ten songs. “You Go To My Head” and “Abracadabra” are prime examples. The reminds us of the music of Sade with the addition of bandoneon accents. In fact combining the bandoneon, typically used in tango music, with mild urban beats and the soft vocals of Anders is a unique and catchy formula that works well, especially on “Buenos Aires Mix”. They use a bossa nova beat behind “Love Is Here To Stay” and stir up a funky arrangement of “God Bless the Child” to add variety.
