O’s Notes: This pairing features two premier tenor sax players: Sonny with his endless repertoire of bebop riffs and Gene with that notorious warm, fat sound. They cook up seven solid tracks with help from Cedar Walton (p), Sam Jones (b) and Billy Higgins (d). Etta Jones adds blue vocals on tow tracks, one fast, one slow, to round out the set.
