O’s Notes: Connie opens scatting on top of a jazzy bass line with accents from electric sitar on “Blackbird”. This is indeed an unusual combination but it works very well. There are fourteen new arrangements of Beatles Classics including “Good Day Sunshine”, “I’m Looking Through You”, “Wait” and “Can’t Buy Me Love”. Evingson’s vocals are very well articulated and Mary Louise Knutson’s arrangements are fresh and jazzy. Let It Be Jazz is a good transformation of classic pop to jazz.
