O’s Notes: Lauren has a voice with a lot of character, guts and inflection. Life of the Music is a fine creation, a marriage of four classic tunes with seven originals that cover a wide spectrum – pop, ballads, blues and jazz. The support comes from first call musicians including Martin Wind (b), John Hart (g), Tim Horner (d, perc, fl) and Scott Robinson (fl, sax, t). There are several head bobbin’ tunes that engage the listener. Among the best are “Love Me Or Leave Me”, “Counting on the Blues” and the title track. We also enjoyed the funky beats of “Walkin’ on Down The Line”. You are sure to find something you’ll enjoy.
