O’s Notes: Raberg (b) assembles a quartet with Ben Monder (g), Chris Cheek (sax), and either Matt Wilson or Ted Poor on drums. They perform 23 songs over 2 CDs. Raberg composed all of the music except “Nardis” (Miles Davis). It if primarily fusion but frequently extends into the free space of Avant Garde on songs like “An Afternoon By The Meadow”. We found several gems among the collection notably “The Journey” and “Candesence”.
