O’s Notes: Vibraphonist, Burton is in excellent company with Chick Corea (p), Pat Metheny (g), Roy Haynes (d) and Dave Holland (b). These Like Minds perform ten tracks written by Pat, Chick and Gary with George & Ira Gershwin’s “Soon” thrown in for balance. The groove moves from upbeat songs like “Elucidation” and the title track to mid tempo – “Windows” to ballads like “Futures”. Originally released in 1998, this remastered SACD has excellent sound on and strong performance.
