O’s Notes: Megan places her strong, sultry vocals in front of a swinging jazz combo starting with “Is You Is” shadowed by Bill Caldwell on sax. She sings and scats her way through eleven classics with a fine club-like performance. Bob Bowman contributes fine bass solo on “Save That Time” as well as leading the action on several tunes like “Born To Be Blue”. Mike Melvoin is a guest pianist on three tunes, notably “Hey There”. Birdsall breathes inspiration into “The Moon’s A Harsh Mistress” and rollicks on “Little Jazz Bird” showing versatility and grace. She is comfortable in the spotlights!
