O’s Notes: This is a well-recorded live set featuring pianist Kenny Barron with Ben Riley on drums and Ray Drummond on bass. The venue was Bradley’s in New York circa 1996 – home to musicians, specifically pianists. While Bradley’s is no longer operating, this CD serves as a reminder of some of the excellent music once heard there. Though only five tracks are played, there is over an hour of pure hard swinging jazz. The musical intimacy that could only be felt when you were “there” extends into your music room.
