O’s Notes: Alto saxophonist Jesse Davis is a native of New Orleans who cut his teeth in New York before moving to Italy where he’s lived for two decades! He was back in New York February 2022 for a session Live at Smalls Jazz Club. Spike Wilner is on the keys with bassist Peter Washington and Joe Farnsworth on drums. They are a formidable unit that supports Davis when he is cooking on burners like “Juicy Lucy” or soothing us on ballads like “These Foolish Things”. Jesse is a great talent that shouldn’t be forgotten while he resides in Italy!
