O’s Notes: Veteran singer Mary Stallings continues to excite audiences with her powerful voice. She sings standards for this live set, fully engaging the audience along the way. An excellent example is “Sunday Kind of Love” where she takes us to church with resounding warm lyrics. Arranger, pianist, Eric Reed and Ron Blake (s) add some nice solos while Vincente Arthur (b) and Carl Allen (d) maintain a solid rhythm.
