O’s Notes: Drummer, composer Peter Erskine assembles his trio with pianist Alan Pasqua and bassist Darek Oles for The Interlochen Concert, recorded live in Camogli, Italy November 19, 2021. This came near the end of their first post-pandemic tour and the long-time trio was in prime form. Each musician contributes original works, and they play with a relaxed maturity that is most appreciated, notably on “Con Alma”. We think this is an enjoyable performance and the audience agrees!
