O’s Notes: Ilona is a true jazz singer with an impressive range that will wake your spirits. Both of her parents were musicians and she benefits from the strong gene pool. Knopfler makes these classics her own by allowing her passion to come through. The large ensemble is excellent with layered, dynamic brass that presents a large backdrop for Ilona and songs great alone as well. This is swinging big sound complemented by strong but soft vocals and scatting.
