O’s Notes: Mn’Jam is a creative band featuring leaders/composers vocalist Melissa Oliveira and Jam (electronics & turntables) along with Tuur Moens (d), José Carlos Barbosa (b) and Virxilii Da Silva (g). They invite a few guest artists to round out the performance that spans a wide range of contemporary rock infused jazz. They open with the futuristic “R2D2” before recrafting a number of classics like “Use Me” and “It Ain’t Necessarily So”. We enjoyed Melissa’s vocalizing on “Fairytale” and “Pensamentos”. They bring the Popular Portuguese vibe to the jazz world on“Live With A Boom, worth checking out!
