O’s Notes: Jay leads a strong team on this jazz-fusion CD. The band includes bassist John Patitucci, Tim Ries on sax, Larry Goldings (organ) and percussionist Cyro Baptista. Azzolina wrote all nine of the tracks and the sound is fresh. The pace varies from racy on “Friends Of Friends” to the peaceful “Sofia’s Eyes” where Jay switches to an acoustic guitar. We liked “Smile For Me” with excellent work from Patitucci and “Exit Strategy”.
