O’s Notes: Bassist Rich Brown is the genius behind Rinse The Algorithm. He had a hand in writing all of the music and produced the session as well. They start with “Urban Nocturnal”, a reflective piece before opening up on “Constellation” featuring Robi Batas on piano. Then Rich anchors “The Purple Time”, the first of several syncopated swingers. We liked drummer Larnell Lewis’ work on “Hibiscus” including the reprise; “Black Nimbus” showcasing Brown; “Forward Motion” and “Sooth The Machinery” featuring Yvette Tollar singing.
