O’s Notes: These seven new compositions were written by Steve (b) and arranged by Ohad (sax). They are rather eclectic pieces, using classical instrumentation in a sextet but with elements of jazz improvisation. The music sounds like a movie score and maintains its story line, The Bum’s Tale across songs like “Making Ends Meet” and I’m Your Pal”. You can feel the emotions and moods of the character as he (she) passes through life. Russ Johnson (t), Meg Okura (violin), Greg Tardy (cl) and Jacob Garchik (tb) make up the balance of the band, each with significant contributions.
