O’s Notes: It only takes a minute into the first song “Smoke On the Water” to appreciate the beauty of Judith’s signature vocals. They sound great with a little bit of smoky, nasal character, lots of inflection and well controlled dynamics. She also, plays piano, wrote most of the tunes and co-produced this session. The music swings nicely on songs like “Sky High” but there are hints of pop, blues and country here. No matter, we just liked the voice – up front and personal. Our favorites are the bluesy “Enough” a duet with Cassandra Wilson.
