O’s Notes: Tom is singing in front of the Buddy Shanahan Trio with Peggy Honea (b) and Mike Drake (d). Buddy not only leads the band but also does a fine job of tickling the ivory. The songs, all covers of classics, are about the ups and downs of love. The thirteen songs are separated by “Martini Music”, interludes which get us from point A to B. Tom’s voice is theatrical – well developed and articulated especially on “Been A Long Day” with Linda K. Leonard and Todd Hast adding vocals. Todd also adds harmony on “Standing on the Corner”, our favorite of the set!
