O’s Notes: Percussionist, drummer, vocalist Paulo Almeida leads a quartet with Josh Schofield (sax), Lorenzo Vitolo (p, synths), and Joan Cadina (b). The music is heavily syncopated, Latin fusion with an abundance of energy, notably on “Burning Skin”. They relax on “Nenhum Talvez” with vocal shadowing by Lisette Spinnler, “Saudade” sung by Almeida, and “Um Sopro” before wrapping up with “Ipê” featuring Jorge Rossy on vibes, and “Saci” featuring Schofield.
