O’s Notes: Wilson’s voice is deep and rich, just lovely to listen to. She plays a fresh set here mixing the almost eerie “Black Orpheus” with the warm title track and a calypso version of “Caravan”. She adds African beats on “Arere”, sings the blues on “St. James Infirmary” & “Dust My Broom” and sings her take of “The Very Thought of You” in a duet with bassist Reginald Veal. Marvin Sewell makes a strong contribution on guitar (electric and acoustic) supporting Wilson. She makes each and every one of these tunes her own. It’s a wonderful recording and a must have for her fans!
