O’s Notes: Bill plays a throaty tenor sax swinging through eight new original compositions. He plays in a quartet with Robi Batos (p), Mike Downes (b) and Ted Warren (d). The program was strong highlighted by “The Brightest Moon”, “Billy’s Bossa” and “Parallel Bars”. We also liked “Four Keys”, a mellow tune with mild hints of fusion and the opener which is well characterized by it’s title “Low-down, No-good, Downright Nasty Blues”.
