O’s Notes: Taylor is a young pianist who is focused on his profession and perfecting it. He starts by surrounding himself with excellent musicians including the formidable players Lewis Nash (d) and Christian McBride (b). They open with a rousing arrangement of “Giant Steps” including an electrifying solo by McBride, a great start to a dozen selections. Among the rest are fresh arrangements of jazz classics, pop tunes and a few originals. We liked “Woke Up This Morning” and “Adventure One” as well. Eigsti does well on this recording and shows a lot of promise.
