O’s Notes: Cindy opens scatting along with Woody Witt on sax on “It Don’t Mean A Thing” and we knew we were in for a swinging session. She sings with a stage presence that includes well articulated lyrics and strong unique arrangements. Her approach gives new life to overworked songs like “Nature Boy” and “Deed I Do” and introduced us to underworked tunes like Porter’s “It’s De-Lovely”. Both vocals and instrumentation are strong for these twelve songs, a combination of ballads and standards.
