O’s Notes: Roy plays a warm saxophone and leads a quartet with pianist Joaquin Garcia, bassist Kitt Lyles and Gustavo Cortiñas on drums. McGrath produced the effort and composed five of the eight selections, mostly ballads. The music is rich and mellow as Roy pays homage to family and friends. “Kinsugi” and “Spirit of the Living God” are among the best in a good session.
