O’s Notes: Jazz fusion guitarist Tohpati Bertiga assembles a quintet with funky bassist Indro Hardjodikoro, drummer Demas Narawangsa, Endang Ramdan (percussion) and Diki Suwarjiki (fl, tarompet). The Czech Symphony Orchestra are special guests on “Janger”, a riveting opener! This session was recorded in Jakarta in 2015 and the fire is still burning fueled by Tohpati’s explosive guitar solos. Hardjodikoro is a fine compliment to Tophati notably on “Tanah Emas”. We also enjoyed “Berburu”, “Pangkur” and “Reog” making“Mata Hati“a racy, winning session.
