O’s Notes: Eddie is a veteran master of the flute and clarinet. While he has been active in academia and on stage, this is his first recording as a leader in a while. He appears here in a quartet with Hank Jones (p), Richard Davis (b) and Kenny Washington (d). They are all polished musicians and they take us through a dozen classics. The pace is varied from the relaxing “Passion Flower” to the swinging “I’m Getting Sentimental Over You”, just a couple of sparklers in a strong set!
