O’s Notes: Saxophonist Houston Person has been producing at least one CD per year over the last decade and the well is yet to dry up! This one swings hard on songs like “In A Mellow Tone” and “Sunny”. But the set of ten tunes is as the title suggests mostly Mellow ballads. “What A Difference A Day Makes” and the soulful “Blues On The AM” are a couple of the standouts. Person is joined by John Di Martino (p), James Chirillo (g), Ray Drummond (b) and Lewis Nash (d). Person ha produced yet another winning effort!
