O’s Notes: Nicolas merges smooth jazz into the traditional Holiday music. He uses soprano sax for the melodies and a funky back beat for rhythm. The electronic keyboards and drum machines detract from the spirit on some of the tunes but things gel a bit on “Little Drummer Boy”. The best bet was the calypso beat on “We Wish You A Merry Christmas”.
