O’s Notes: Clarinetist Haiduck joins bassist Alex Bellegarde’s Trio with Pierre Franois (p) and Issiah Ceccarelli (d). It is a live session at Montréal’s Upstairs Jazz Bar recorded in August 2006. They play six lengthy compositions including two of Bellegarde’s originals notably “Alex’s Alley” a nine-minute improvisation that moves. We also enjoyed the ballad “We’ll Be Together Again”. The reproduction is a little thin but it does not get in the way of the music swinging on “Hey There” and “Alone Together”. It must have been a fine evening for the audience.
