O’s Notes: French jazz singer Cyrille Aimee has a gentle sweet voice and is backed by her French Trio: Thomas Enhco (p), Jérémy Bruyre (b) and Yoann Serra (d) with many other strong musicians including co-producer/arranger Assaf Gleizner (keyboards). Aimee pays homage to the genius of writer Stephen Sondheim with fourteen of his best songs. Cyrille pours her heart out on the title track, as she seems to be in the midst of these lyrics. We also enjoyed “Marry Me A Little” featuring Brazilian guitarist Diego Figueiredo, “No One is Alone” and the calypso feel of “Being Alive”.
