O’s Notes: They Poets are back with more acid jazz. It is funky and electronic with club beats that have sizzle. And yes, there is some poetry. Listen to “The Dream Car We Drove West” for a taste and also to “The Day Twisted” which includes cool music with brass riffs behind it while “Padmed’s Blue Wheelbarrow” had a funky James Brown beat. The Coyote Poets are doing something different, pushing the envelope and taking jazz in yet another direction.
