O’s Notes: The Japanese free fusion duo continues to produce electrifying music that presses the envelope beyond traditional boundaries. The soothing chords of Satoko Fujii’s piano temper Natsuki Tamura’s aggressive trumpet lines. This is their fifth collaboration and they seem to get better each time. We enjoyed the complementary mellow blends especially on “Dune And Star” and “Muku” with “Clone” and “Galvanic” staying closer to their edgy free spirits.
