O’s Notes: Transcendence is a trio with Bob Gluck (keyboards), Christopher Dean Sullivan (b), and Karl Latham (d). They play the Music of Pat Metheny, songs composed or performed by him. It compliments Gluck’s new book, Pat Metheny: Stories beyond Words that was written after the recording. Some of the arrangements like “The Bat” and “Dolphin Dance” veer from the original songs. Those interpretations are creative but may disappoint some Metheny fans.
