O’s Notes: Veteran west coast sax player/composer Gordon leads a quintet on a journey through nine cool, fresh compositions, six originals. The moods are blue and the rhythms subtle but strong as a foundation for exciting improvisation from all members. Billy Hart (d), Anthony Cox (b) and Mike Nock (p) anchor the rhythm section with Tim Hagens complimenting Brisker’s tenor with trumpet.
