O’s Notes: Natalie John is a worldly singer, writer and educator. Her pitch is excellent and there are hints of Chaka and Maysa in her delivery. Natalie sings sweet harmonies over funky R&B rhythms. The band is a quartet with guitarist Mike Gamble, Maya Kronfeld on keyboards, bassist Joshua Davis and Conor Elmes on drums. “Shy Away”, “Let’s Do This” and “Thinking” are standouts in an inviting session.
