O’s Notes: Natsukashii is loosely translated to mean reminiscing as triggered by a reminder of some sort. Our hearts reach out to those impacted by the tragedy in Japan. Lien is an accomplished pianist and composer leading a trio with bassist Froze Berg and Knut Aalefj¾r keeping time. The music is deep and reflective rich with complex harmonies. This is a fine follow-up to 2008’s Hello Troll and reestablishes this trio as one of Norway’s best jazz acts.
