O’s Notes: Jeri’s voice is soothing. She’s singing, scatting and delivering all sorts of emotion on this collection. Jeri employs a wealth of good musicians including Jimmy Rowles, John Hicks, Fred Hersch, David Murray, Curtis Lundy and Cyrus Chestnut. Brown selects some of her favorite tunes for this CD including “Orange Colored Sky”, “Oo-Shoo-Be-Doo-Be”, one of several duets with vocalist Yves Pierre, and “Old Orleans”.
