O’s Notes: This large ensemble cooks on the opener “Milestone” then moves to a cool “Blues for the Count” before unleashing the power of the brass on “Equinox”. The counter harmonies on “Viva Tirado” once again surface the brilliance of the horns. This is an enjoyable, balanced set led by Gerald Wilson.
