O’s Notes: This is a warm collaboration with guitarist Tom Dempsey. The simple open soundstage allows Vinson’s voice to bloom in front of the guitar tones. This is not an abbreviation of their band, it is how they work all the time: as a duo. Teraesa sounds beautiful on the title track that was written by Demsey. The other eleven tacks are covers of standards. They sound fresh in this setting that is enhanced by good use of modulation, something that sometimes gets lost in today’s recording compression schemes. Highlights are “You Taught My Heart To Sing”, “Just Squeeze Me”, “My How Time Goes By” and “I Remember You”.
