O’s Notes: This is a collection of songs with the lyrics written by Shannon Shor aka Patti Jacob aka Pat Collins. She wrote and sang from the 1950’s through the 1990’s. The words are beautiful and Annette does a world of justice to them, all 14 swinging ballads. The band: Michael Renzi (p), Grady Tate (d), Harry Allen (sax), Jay Berliner (g) and Jeff Carney (b) are excellent accompaniment, especially Michael and Harry who place complementary notes between the words. From the bossa nova beats of “Jazz Man!” to the bouncy “Have A Swingin’ Birthday”, the results are very pleasing, easy-to-listen-to music.
