O’s Notes: This is a very talented Latin band, part of Jazz at Lincoln Center. The musical director is pianist Arturo O’Farill. The large ensemble is well orchestrated and precise but what sets this band apart from the rest in the inclusion of several vocal tracks. Herman Olivera and Claudia Acuña are the vocalists and they do an outstanding job especially on “Somos Novious” (Acuña), “Enseñame Tu & Piensaló Bien” (Olivera) and together on “Encantado De La Vida”.
