O’s Notes: Smith composed all of the music and conducts the big band. The sound is racy and at times a bit chaotic on Not Dark Yet a combination of heavy metal and free jazz. The large ensemble presents a large, powerful voice that is undeniably a new and different experience. I’d love to see them perform at the local symphony venue just to see the expression on the faces of the clientele; sure to be blown away by this display of power.
