O’s Notes: This is a Latin fusion led by bassist Charlie Haden with Carla Bley (p and conductor), an eight-piece brass section, Steve Cardenas (g) and Matt Wilson (d). The songs range from the melancholy “Blue Anthem” to an engaging medley of “America The Beautiful”. They also did a very soothing arrangement of “Goin’ Home”. Our favorite was the more festive opener, “Not In Our Name”.
