O’s Notes: Maria’s jazz orchestra performs five beautiful compositions that serve as open landscapes for improvisation. The musicians never get in each other’s way leaving enough space for the listener to appreciate what is happening. This is most evident on “Cerulean Skies”. Sky Blue is an appropriate title as the music is as free as the wind with details coming from the birds and precipitation.
