O’s Notes: Dave Bass plays piano and leads and all-star band including bassist Harvie S, Phil Woods (sax), Conrad Herwig (tb) and singers Karrin Allyson and Paulette McWilliams. That leads to a set with lots of variety and spices. Cincinnati born Bass spent a lot of time in California before finding his groove in New York for NYC Sessions. It’s got a little bit for everybody with eight originals and a few classics. Our favorite is “La Comparsa/Mi Montuno”.
